Sikkim and Darjeeling, situated in northeastern India, are stunning destinations that perfectly combine natural beauty, cultural diversity, and adventure. With their breathtaking landscapes, rich heritage, and exciting outdoor activities, these locales are ideal for travelers seeking both tranquility and thrilling experiences. Whether exploring vibrant local cultures or indulging in outdoor adventures, visitors are sure to be captivated by the charm of Sikkim and Darjeeling.
Arrive at Bagdogra airport by 1:00 PM, where you will be picked up and immediately depart for Gangtok, which is approximately 70 km away and takes about 2.5 hours. Please note that there will be an additional charge of Rs 4500 to 5000 for pickups if you arrive after 1 PM. If you have a personal vehicle, there are no time restrictions for pickups or drops. Dinner will be served.
After enjoying morning tea, you will drive from Gangtok to Changu Lake and Baba Mandir, which is approximately 55 km away and takes about 3 hours. Due to possible weather conditions, if any roads are closed because of snowfall, landslides, or traffic issues, alternative sightseeing will be arranged. Changu Lake is located at an altitude of 12,310 feet, while Baba Temple is at 13,200 feet. Visits to Changu Lake and Nathula Pass are at your own expense, and please note that they are closed every Monday. Breakfast and dinner will be provided.
After morning tea and breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Gangtok. Make sure to pack warm clothes and only two pairs of clothes in your bag for the journey to Lachung, which is approximately 80 km away and takes about 2 hours. Lachung is situated at an altitude of 8,700 feet in the northern part of Sikkim. You will visit various waterfalls along the way and then arrive at your hotel in Lachung to rest. Breakfast and dinner will be served.
After early morning tea and breakfast, you will leave for Yumthang Valley, also known as the Valley of Flowers, located at an altitude of 12,000 feet and surrounded by snow-clad mountains. If you wish to visit Zero Point beyond Yumthang, additional charges will apply. After lunch in Lachung, you will begin your return journey to Gangtok, which is approximately 110 km away and takes about 6 hours. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.
After enjoying early morning tea and breakfast, you will depart from Gangtok for Pelling, which is approximately 150 km away by hill road. This journey includes visits to Do-Dul Chorten and the Flower Show. Pelling is a beautiful hill station situated at an altitude of 6,300 feet, offering scenic views. Please note that additional charges will apply if you wish to visit Namchi and Ravangala (Buddha Temple). Breakfast and dinner will be served.
After morning tea, you will visit the Sky Walk with Chenreji Statue, Pemayenges Monastery, Rabdentsi Ruins, and the Bird Sanctuary before proceeding to Darjeeling from Pelling. The distance is approximately 80 km and takes about 3 hours. Breakfast and dinner will be provided.
At 4:00 AM, you will reach Tiger Hill by vehicle to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the sunrise. Take in the magnificent views of the icy Darjeeling peaks of the Kanchanjunga range, the third highest in the world at 28,208 feet above sea level, visible from India and bathed in the first golden rays of the sun. After visiting the monastery and the Gurkha War Memorial (Batasia Loop), you will return to the hotel for breakfast. Afterward, get ready to explore other attractions in Darjeeling or enjoy some self-excursion time. Please note that the toy train must be booked from the IRCTC website after 2 PM at your own cost. Breakfast and dinner will be provided.
After morning tea and breakfast, the tour concludes with your transfer from Darjeeling to Bagdogra airport. Make sure to book your flight or train after 12 noon, as the distance to the airport is approximately 90 km, taking about 3 hours. If your vehicle is in sharing, there will be a compulsory drop-off at Bagdogra Airport at 6 AM after breakfast tea. If you have a train or flight at a different time, an additional charge of Rs 4500 to 5000 will apply for extra vehicle service. Breakfast will be served.
