The ideal time to visit Kashmir, often known as Paradise on Earth, varies based on your desired experiences and personal preferences. Kashmir has distinct seasons, each offering unique attractions and activities.
For most travelers looking for a well-rounded experience, the summer months from June to August are the best time to visit. The weather is pleasant, making most attractions open and easily accessible. If your focus is on winter sports or enjoying a snowy landscape, the winter months are perfect for that. Additionally, spring and autumn bring their own charm, with blooming flowers in spring and stunning foliage in autumn, providing enchanting experiences in the region.
Upon complimentary pick-up at Srinagar Airport at 12:00 PM and 02:00 PM only, guests will depart for the hotel. Our deluxe tours include accommodations in Srinagar hotels. However, if a tourist prefers to stay in a houseboat, this must be communicated prior to booking, and an additional fee will apply. Guests opting for a houseboat must either arrange for their own transportation to our designated dining location or pay for dinner and breakfast on the houseboat.
Please note that tourists arriving on flights after the specified times will need to reach the hotel independently and at their own expense. If travelers arrive in Srinagar on time, complimentary lunch will be provided by the company.
At 8:00 AM, after enjoying tea and breakfast, guests will depart for Dudh Pathri (approximately 45 km / 2 hours). Upon arrival at Dudh Pathri, travelers can explore local sites and tourist attractions. Afterward, a lunch or high tea will be served at the Srinagar hotel at 3:00 PM, followed by time for rest and shopping, if possible.
Departure from Srinagar to Sonmarg is scheduled for after 8:30 AM (approximately 80 km / 3 hours). Upon arrival at the hotel, guests will have the opportunity to visit Thajwas Glacier after lunch (by horse, at their own expense). Due to frequent heavy snowfall and extreme cold in Sonmarg, stays will only be accommodated from November 15 to March 31 if conditions permit. The road from Gandharbal to Sonmarg may often be closed due to snowfall, requiring travelers to use a chained vehicle provided by the local union at their own expense. The approximate cost per vehicle ranges from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 3500, which we cannot permanently include in the tour price, as this situation occurs only 15 to 20 times a year.
After enjoying your morning tea and breakfast, set out to explore the breathtaking local sights of Sonmarg, including Zero Point, Kargil Road, and the Dras Sector. Experience the stunning landscapes and captivating views these destinations offer. Travel will be arranged via local union taxis at your own expense, allowing you to soak in the natural beauty of this picturesque region. Don't forget to capture the scenic beauty and create unforgettable memories during your visit.
After enjoying your morning tea and breakfast, depart from Sonmarg to Gulmarg, a scenic drive of approximately 120 km that takes about 4 hours. Upon arrival in Gulmarg, check in at your hotel and take some time to relax and explore the local sights. Please note that during peak season, hotel rates may increase unexpectedly; if an overnight stay in Gulmarg isn't possible, accommodation in Srinagar will be arranged instead, with a refund of ₹3000 per room for couples. Additionally, be aware that the road from Tangmarg to Gulmarg may be closed due to snowfall, requiring you to travel at your own expense using a chained vehicle provided by local unions, which typically costs between ₹2500 and ₹3500. This situation is infrequent, occurring only about 15 to 20 times a year.
After enjoying your morning tea and breakfast, embark on a Gondola ride (ropeway) to Khilanmarg. Please note that the online ticket for the Gulmarg ropeway must be booked by our office staff at least one month prior to your visit through the official website (www.jammuandkashmircablecar.com) at your own expense for a time slot after 11 AM. Due to the potential delays caused by the Gondola line, tourists may not return in time for lunch; however, dinner and breakfast will be provided by the hotel during your two-night stay in Gulmarg. Please remember that booking the ropeway tickets is the sole responsibility of the traveler, and any booking made cannot be canceled or refunded under any circumstances.
Embark on your scenic drive from Gulmarg to Pahalgam, covering approximately 130 km over 4 hours. Upon arrival, take time to rest and settle into your accommodations. We aim to book hotels in Pahalgam that are conveniently located near major city centers or rafting points; however, please note that hotel quality in Pahalgam may be average compared to Srinagar. During your journey, you’ll pass through the Pampore area, famous for its saffron fields and a cricket bat factory. To avoid delays, please limit your shopping time to ensure timely arrival for lunch. After checking in at Pahalgam, you can visit Baisharan on horseback and explore Aru Valley via local union taxis at your own expense. (Please refrain from river rafting, as it can be dangerous.)
After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning before departing for Pahalgam. Once there, take the opportunity to relax and explore the beautiful surroundings. You can choose to visit popular attractions like Betab Valley and Chandanwari, using local union taxis at your own expense.
On your final day, breakfast will be served at 6:30 AM. After your meal, the tour concludes with a drop-off from Pahalgam to Srinagar Airport. Ensure your return flight is scheduled for after 2 PM to allow for check-in. It is essential to reach the airport at least 3 hours before your flight time. Should there be any changes to your flight schedule, please make your own arrangements to reach the airport at your expense.
