The ideal time to explore Kashmir, often dubbed Paradise on Earth, varies based on your personal preferences and the experiences you desire. The region showcases distinct seasons, each bringing its own unique allure.
For most travelers aiming for a well-rounded experience, the summer months from June to August are the best choice. During this time, the weather is delightful, and a majority of attractions are open and easily accessible. However, if you have a passion for winter sports or wish to witness the breathtaking snow-covered landscapes, the winter months are perfect for you. Meanwhile, the spring and autumn seasons are enchanting periods, ideal for those who appreciate vibrant autumn foliage and blooming flowers, making for a picturesque visit to Kashmir.
Upon complimentary pick-up from Srinagar Airport at either 12:00 PM or 02:00 PM, you will proceed to the hotel. We offer deluxe accommodations in Srinagar; however, if you wish to stay in a houseboat, please inform us before booking, as this will incur an additional charge. Guests opting for a houseboat will need to reach our designated dining location for meals at their own expense, or they can choose to pay for dinner and breakfast on the houseboat itself.
Please note that travelers arriving on flights outside the specified times will need to arrange their own transportation to the hotel at their own cost. If you arrive in Srinagar within the designated time frame, a complimentary lunch will be provided by our company.
At 8:00 AM, after tea and breakfast, you will depart for Dudh Pathri, located approximately 45 km away (about a 2-hour drive). Upon arrival at Dudh Pathri, you will have the opportunity to explore local sites and tourist attractions in the area.
After your visit, you will return to the Srinagar hotel for lunch or high tea at 3:00 PM, followed by some time for rest and shopping, if possible.
Departure from Srinagar to Sonmarg will be after 8:30 AM, covering approximately 80 km (about 3 hours). Upon arrival at the hotel, you can enjoy a visit to Thazivas Glacier after lunch, which will be at your own expense and accessible by horse.
Please note that due to frequent heavy snowfall and extreme cold conditions in Sonamarg, accommodation in Sonamarg will only be provided when possible for tours running from November 15 to March 31. The road from Gandharbal to Sonmarg is often closed due to snowfall, and travelers will need to hire a chained vehicle provided by the local union at their own expense. The approximate cost for this vehicle ranges from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 3500. This cost cannot be permanently included in the tour price, as such road closures only occur about 15 to 20 times a year.
After morning tea and breakfast, you can visit local sights in Sonamarg, including Zero Point, Kargil Road, and the Dras Sector. Transportation for these visits will be via local union taxi, and the cost will be at your own expense. Enjoy exploring the beautiful landscapes and attractions that this stunning region has to offer!
After morning tea and breakfast, leave Sonmarg for Gulmarg (approximately 120 km / 4 hours). Upon arrival in Gulmarg, check in at the hotel and enjoy some local sights and relaxation. Please note that during the peak season, hotel owners in Gulmarg may suddenly increase room rates. If an overnight stay in Gulmarg is not possible, accommodation will be provided in Srinagar instead, with a refund of ₹3000 per room for one night for each couple.
**Special Note:** The road from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is often closed due to snowfall, and you may need to travel at your own expense using a chained vehicle provided by the local union. The approximate cost for this vehicle is between ₹2500 to ₹3500, which cannot be included in the tour price as such situations occur only 15 to 20 times a year.
After morning tea and breakfast, embark on the Gondola ride (ropeway) and proceed to Khilanmarg. Please note that the online ticket for the Gulmarg Ropeway must be booked by our office staff one month prior to your visit through the website www.jammuandkashmircablecar.com, at your own expense, for a time slot after 11 AM.
Due to the Gondola line and travel time in Gulmarg, tourists may not arrive on time for lunch. However, dinner and breakfast will be provided by the hotel during your two-night stay in Gulmarg. Please be aware that the responsibility for booking ropeway tickets lies solely with the traveler, and these bookings cannot be canceled or refunded for any reason.
Drive from Gulmarg to Pahalgam (approximately 130 km/4 hours). Upon arrival, check in and rest at your hotel. We aim to place hotels in Pahalgam near major city centers or rafting points; however, accommodations in Pahalgam may be of average quality compared to those in Srinagar.
During your journey from Srinagar to Pahalgam, you will pass through the Pampore area, known for its saffron fields and cricket bat factory. Please try to limit your shopping time to ensure you arrive in Pahalgam in time for lunch.
After checking in, you can visit Baisharan at your own expense by horse and explore Aru Valley via a local taxi union. Please refrain from river rafting, as it can be dangerous.
From Pahalgam, you can return via a local union taxi and take the opportunity to visit attractions such as Betab Valley and Chandanwari at your own expense. Enjoy the scenic beauty and unique experiences these sites have to offer!
After breakfast at 6:30 AM, the tour concludes with a drop-off from Pahalgam to Srinagar Airport. If there are any changes to the flight time, travelers must arrange their own transportation to the airport. Return flight tickets should be booked for after 2 PM, as it is necessary to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the flight. If travelers opt for a cheaper flight at an earlier time, they will also need to reach Srinagar Airport at their own expense.
