The ideal time to visit Kashmir, often called “Paradise on Earth,” depends on your preferences and the experiences you seek. Kashmir enjoys distinct seasons, each offering unique attractions and activities.
For most travelers aiming for a well-rounded experience, the summer months from June to August are the best time to visit. The weather is pleasant, and most attractions are open and easily accessible during this period. If you’re interested in winter sports or wish to see the region blanketed in snow, the winter months are perfect. For those who appreciate the beauty of autumn foliage or blooming flowers, spring and autumn provide enchanting scenery in Kashmir.
Upon arrival at Srinagar Airport, you will be picked up at either 12:00 PM or 02:00 PM and transferred to your hotel. We offer deluxe accommodations in Srinagar, but if you prefer a houseboat stay, please inform us beforehand, as there may be a price difference. Houseboat guests must arrange their own meals at our designated location or pay for dinner and breakfast on the houseboat. If you arrive later than the specified times, you will need to reach the hotel on your own expense. Complimentary lunch will be provided for timely arrivals.
Depart from Srinagar to Sonmarg after 8:30 AM (approximately 80 km/3 hours). After checking into your hotel, visit Thazivas Glacier after lunch, via horseback at your own expense. Please note that during the heavy snowfall period (15th November to 31st March), staying in Sonmarg may only be possible under certain conditions. The road from Gandharbal to Sonmarg is often closed due to snow, and you may need to hire a chained vehicle from the local union at an approximate cost of Rs. 2500 to Rs. 3500, which cannot be included in the tour price.
Check out from the hotel at 9 AM and explore the remaining sights of Sonmarg on your own. After lunch at 12 noon, depart for Srinagar (approx. 80 km/3 hrs). On the way, visit the stunning Shalimar, Nishat, and Chashme Shahi Gardens.
At 8 AM, after tea and breakfast, leave for Dudh Pathri (approximately 45 km/2 hours). Upon arrival, explore local sites and tourist attractions. After returning to Srinagar, enjoy lunch or high tea at the hotel around 3 PM before some rest and shopping (if possible).
Travel from Srinagar to Gulmarg (approximately 55 km/2 hours). Enjoy a Gondola ride (ropeway) at your own expense in Gulmarg and take in the sights of Khilanmarg. The online ticket for the Gondola should be booked by our office staff one month in advance via www.jammuandkashmircablecar.com. Due to potential delays in the Gondola line, lunch will not be provided in Gulmarg. Please be aware that the road from Tangmarg to Gulmarg may be closed due to snowfall, and you may need to travel at your own expense by a chained vehicle provided by the local union (approx. cost: Rs. 2500 to Rs. 3500).
Drive from Gulmarg to Pahalgam (approx. 130 km/4 hours). After arrival, rest and settle in. We try to book hotels in Pahalgam near major city centers or rafting points; however, hotel quality may be average compared to Srinagar. On your way, you'll pass through Pampore, known for its saffron fields and cricket bat factory—please limit shopping time to ensure you arrive for lunch in Pahalgam. After checking in, you may visit Baisharan on horseback and explore Aru Valley via local taxis at your own expense. (Please avoid river rafting, as it is dangerous.)
Enjoy a local sightseeing day in Pahalgam. Take a local union taxi to visit popular spots such as Betab Valley and Chandanwari at your own expense.
After breakfast at 6:30 AM, the tour concludes with a drop-off from Pahalgam to Srinagar Airport. If there are any changes to your flight time, you will need to reach the airport on your own. Please ensure that your return flight is booked for after 2 PM, and arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to your flight. Should you find a cheaper ticket for a different flight time, you will need to make your own arrangements to reach Srinagar Airport at your own expense.
